BamFam Ride Along Program
For this social justice program BamFam Foundation partners with professional athletes, local law enforcement agencies, and local schools/youth organization. It is strategically designed to help bridge the gap between youth in the community and their local Police Department through a curriculum based Q&A session and sports clinic for at risk or underserved youth.
The "Ride Along" portion of the program is conducted by the participating professional athlete, representing department officer, and a BamFam Director as they drive around the community having an open and honest conversation about the needs or issues of that specific community. Together they then host a curriculum based Q&A session and sports clinic with youth to bring a positive, educational, and FUN experience interacting with law enforcement officers in their community outside of the normal occasion. Areas of priority include, education, community/police relations, racial equality and economic development empowering athletes, sports leaders, and the community to become effective advocates for change.
